1982

• DHL starts operating in Finland as a one-man company.

1983

• DHL moves into premises of its own in Helsinki.

1994

• Helsinki Gateway is opened at Finnair's premises.

2001

• New Head Office and Helsinki Gateway at Helsinki-Vantaa airport are inaugurated.

2003

• Danzas, DHL and Deutsche Post Euro Express join forces under a common brand, DHL.

2004

• The Danzas legal entities change to DHL brand names.

2005

• DHL International Oy merges into DHL Express (Finland) Oy; the company provides air and road express and road freight services. Fashion logistics provider SGS-Polargarment Oy is merged into DHL. Deutsche Post World Net acquires Exel in December; thus the Finnish company Exel Logistics Oy will be joining DHL.

2006

• The logistics operations are rebranded to DHL Global Forwarding (global air and ocean freight services) and DHL Exel Supply Chain (contract logistics). DHL Express and DHL Exel Supply Chain concentrate their operations in Helsinki area to DHL Business Park at Helsinki-Vantaa airport. DHL Solutions (Finland) Oy changes name to DHL Exel Supply Chain (Finland) Oy. DHL Danzas Air & Ocean (Finland) Oy changes name to DHL Global Forwarding (Finland) Oy. DHL Express buys out Finland Post's share of the jointly owned domestic transport company Kelpo Kuljetus Fi Oy, which becomes a fully-owned DHL subsidiary.

2007

• DHL Express (Finland) Oy changes name to DHL Freight (Finland) Oy. The company continues to host both Express and Freight business units.

2008

• DHL Express starts gateway operations in Turku and daily flights to and from Leipzig Hub.

1988

• ASG Finland Oy is established to provide air and ocean freight services to the Finnish market.

1990

• ASG expands and starts to offer European road transports

1993

• ASG and John Nurminen Oy, Finnish forwarding company operating since 1886, join forces to form a joint venture, ASG-Nurminen Oy.

1995

• ASG acquires the entire traditional forwarding and transport business from Nurminen. New companies ASG Air & Sea Oy and ASG European Road Transport Oy are established. Subsidiary ERT Oy is merged to the latter.

1999

• Danzas, the logistics arm of Deutsche Post World Net, acquires ASG.

2000

• Danzas Intercontinental and Air Express International (AEI) are merged. The Finnish companies change name to Danzas AEI Intercontinental Oy and Danzas ASG Eurocargo Oy. Danzas ASG acquires 49 per cent of the domestic transport company Kelpo Kuljetus Fi Oy. Danzas ASG becomes member of the Deutsche Post Euro Express B-to-B parcel distribution network.

2001

• Danzas ASG acquires a majority of Kelpo Kuljetus shares (51 %); the rest is owned by Finland Post. SGS-Polargarment Oy, a company specialized in fashion logistics, becomes part of the Danzas Solutions business.

2003

• Danzas, DHL and Deutsche Post Euro Express join forces under a common brand, DHL

2004

• The legal names of the Danzas companies are changed. DHL Express (Finland) Oy and DHL International Oy are active in air / road express and road freight. DHL Danzas Air & Ocean (Finland) Oy operates in air and ocean freight, and DHL Solutions (Finland) Oy specializes in 3rd party logistics solutions.
