Fuel Surcharge
Changes in fuel prices have resulted in increased overall costs for the air express industry, necessitating the introduction of a variable fuel surcharge which may rise, fall or be removed to align with movements in fuel prices.

The fuel surcharge will be applied to the net invoiced amount of all shipments.
We reserve the right to change the fuel surcharge index and table without notice. Both amount and duration of the fuel surcharge will be determined at DHL's sole discretion.

The surcharge will be based on the monthly average spot prices for Kerosene/jet fuel (Rotterdam ARA), as published by the US Department of Energy. Prices are expressed in (USD) cents per US gallon.
The Fuel surcharge will vary in 0,5 % steps and will be updated on a monthly basis. It should be noted that there will be a 1 month lag in the application of the index; for example the December surcharge will be based on October index.
